Gemlab's M50P-1700 ("MINI MUFFLE") is a small-size, bench-type, high temperature vertical muffle, open-loop, bottom loading-unloading furnace; it is designed and produced by Ted Themelis, an expert on gemstone treatments in response to the market demand for heat-treating small lots of gemstones.

Model M50P-1700 is very versatile, reliable with long lasting performance and requires little maintenance. It is very easy and safe to operate; the furnace may be operated under harsh environmental conditions (high relative humidity (90%), high temperature (45oC); it can also be operated at 1700oC when the supplied electric voltage drops to 200oC.

• Max. operating temp.: 1700oC (air, atmo.conditions); 1500oC (vacuum)
• Loading capacity: 1140 carats of ruby-sapphire loaded in one crucible OD=40mm using muffle; 500 carats of ruby-sapphire loaded into 6 dishes using muffle; 1,300 carats of ruby-sapphires loaded in one crucible without using muffle.
