The
microscope is designed to be used in the field. Lightweight,
portability and functionality are the main features
of this field microscope. You can take the portaLEDscope anywhere
in the world, it only takes minimum space in your case, and
use it under any lighting conditions continuously for about
4 hours without having it plugged in AC current, thanks to
sophisticated electronics integrated with the long-life battery.
This field microscope used revolutionary, energy efficient,
highly reliable, and ultra compact light emitting Diodes (LEDs)
having considerable advantages over the conventional light.
LEDs are made from premium semiconductor parts having life
expectancy 100,000 hours. LEDs are virtually heatless,
thus the yellow tinge observed in other typed of illuminations
is eliminated.
POWER
SUPPLY & ELECTRONICS. This LED digital lighting system
is designed, configured and assembled in two separate modular
electronic printed circuit boards (PCB). A universal 110/220Vac
power supply using thyroidal transformer mounted on one
PCB; the lighting control system is mounted on the other PCB
providing electrically noise-free, stable, free of spikes
and flickers lighting environments, substantially reducing
the eye fatigue.
BATTERY.
Long life VARL battery provides continuous illumination for
about 5 hours. It is fully recharged in only 3 hours
if plugged in either 110V or 220V AC power. Pilot light indicates
the condition of the battery (low, in use, full).
DARK-FIELD
ILLUMINATION SYSTEM. The dark field effect is achieved
by a series of 24 high-intensity heatless LED lamps portioned
geometrically having color temperature of 5500°K and variable
intensity control producing superb dark-field lighting
environment without yellow tinge at any intensity. The intensity
of both types of light is controlled with variable dimmer.
OPTICS.
Best quality Chinese made stereo microscope pod with 1X or
3X objectives and a pair of super wide field 10X eyepieces,
provides total magnification 10X or 30X. Magnification
can be extended to 60X with additional 2X objective lens (optional).
ARM
HOLDER. Rack and pinion microscope arm and pole
is mounted on the base and can be easily detached from the
base. Working distance is 110 mm. Optical pod swivels 360°
around the microscope arm.
INCIDENT
LIGHT. Pinpoint LED cold lights may be fitted into the
USB plug & play ports provided.
GEM
HOLDER. One wire gemstone tweezers is provided
which can be mounted on either side for maximum manipulation
of the gemstone being observed.
Auto
voltage (110-220V) plug and cord is located opposite to the
gemologist’s sitting position. The portaLEDscope takes
only a minimum working space, only 185mm x 120mm and can be
used anywhere in the world without adaptors. The optical pod,
arm and pole can be easily detached from the microscope base
and fitted in a briefcase. For limited time only an aluminum
case is included. The
entire set measures about 12" x 9" x 3" and
weight about 5.5 kilos.
