Model MB-50 and M40 are fabricated specifically for desk-top use, light-weight, occupying small space, for small loads using only 600 W at 1700oC furnace temperature. Model M76 is a semi-floor model, for experimental and commercial heating processes of ruby-sapphire up to 3,000 carats per run. On a given heating process, regardless the furnace model, each step of the process run may be configured to run for weeks or even months.
What we sell
Like analytical instrumentation in the pharmaceutical and other industries, the users are ultimately responsible for the proper parameter setting, methodology, operation, calibration and maintenance of the equipment. An analogy in heating treating gems, we sell our furnaces, like a rice cooker: the user is responsible to select the type of rice, add appropriate amount of water, add various ingredients, determine the heat-up rate time, cooling time and cooling rate. Successful rice cooking is based on experiments and depends on the user, not on the equipment.
In our lab we fabricate furnaces as per specifications and limitations to carry out the heating parameters provided by the user. We do not provide recipes for heating gems, since gems are imperfect crystals having different characteristics, attributes and chemical compositions. These heating recipes must be produced by the user.
For the first time, true passionate professional gemologists will be able to gain valuable knowledge in heat-treating rubies, sapphires and other gems and study their inclusion characteristics before/after heating. This first-hand experience provides the basis of separating heated from unheated gems and their features. This is something that was never taught in any gemological institute, moreover never fully understood by most gemologists.
Gemological laboratories. The convenience in-house gem treating facility where gems may be treated under various heating parameters in relatively short period of time provide valuable data in understanding the inclusion characteristics before/after heating and make important comparisons and building up a data bank.
Gem traders. Gem traders are now able to heat-treat their own gems under their direct environment and supervision; there is no need to submit their valuable to gem treating service facilities, thus eliminating doubtful experiences, theft, switching and even loss of their gems.

This desk-top, light weight apparatus produces controllable pressure to 8,700 psi (about 600 bar) at controllable temperature 200oC. The apparatus is used to induce any type of oil, resin and oleoresin into the surface-reaching cracks of emeralds, and other beryls, rubies-sapphires and other gemstones. |
